It’s Important to Raise Self-Awareness

Raise Self-Awareness

Raise self-awareness is important to better understand oneself.

Yesterday, on March 1, we celebrated self-injury awareness day through a campaign on social media. In hope that we can be more aware of self-harm and self-injury. And Wearing an orange awareness ribbon is one of the acts to raise self-awareness.

I know it’s hard these days to find the right time to self-reflect because we barely have time to sit back and relax when there are tons of work that needs to be done ASAP!

But you need to know that pushing yourself to the limit can cause a mental breakdown, burnout, and other health issues. And of course, you don’t want that to happen, right? That is why we all need to learn how to love ourselves first before raising self-awareness.

So what can I do to become more self-aware?

Self-awareness is the ability to understand how our actions, thoughts, and emotions can affect us and others around us. And let me tell you, It’s about being completely honest with ourselves.

Did you know that there is a difference between thinking about yourself and knowing about yourself? Well, if you haven’t already known, thinking about yourself can prevent you from performing your very best. Because thinking about it makes you feel stressed, depressed, and less satisfied. And on the other hand, knowing about yourself can help strengthen your belief that you will accomplish anything with excellent results. In this case, you need to know yourself in order to be more self-aware.

There are ways to develop self-awareness, like doing meditation, finding what we are genuinely passionate or good at, asking for feedback from our friends and families to better acknowledge ourselves, etc.

The benefit you’ll gain from being self-aware

Being self-aware can help you be the best version of yourself, and help you make positive changes in your surrounding, maybe you can start by creating an eco-friendly environment, donating stuff to charity, etc. Being self-aware can also boost your confidence and emotional intelligence, and help you learn how to make better decisions, build stronger relationships, and become a better communicator.
