There is no exact day when Dessert Day started in the United States. There is no exact history of writing or proof about Dessert Day. What we know about it is how the word “dessert” was invented. It comes from the French word “desservir” which means to remove that which had been served or to serve. It means a meal that was served after all of the dishes had been removed from the table. Around the 15th century, a lot of chefs were adding a lot of sugar to their desservir dishes. That’s why now dessert is well known for its sweet dishes!
